How it affects Morden:

All activities at the Village Hall have been cancelled or postponed. The Church is closed for services. The play park and tennis court are shut.  The playing field is open but please be responsible and stay 2 metres from anyone.

While pubs are shut, the Cock & Bottle at Morden and some other local pubs have switched and become ‘Pop-up Shops’ for limited hours so one does not have to leave the village to buy fresh and basic items.  Please check the Cock & Bottle Facebook page or ring 01929 459238 for more information.

The Community lunches have stopped but Claire’s Meals on Wheels service at present operates on Tuesday and Fridays. The simple hot lunches are delivered to the door at a cost of £3. They must be booked 48 hours advance.  Call 01929 459075 and talk to Claire. This may be reviewed again so please check.

The Morden Coronavirus Emergency Action Group If you cannot/should not come out and friends or family cannot get to you because they are self-isolating, perhaps we can help.  We have volunteers in the Parish who can buy and deliver basic necessities and collect medicines - or simply give you a phone call to check you are OK and have a chat.

If you are self-isolating because you have symptoms or are in a high-risk category, it would be useful to know so that we can help you.

Please contact Rev Justin Pottinger on 01929 459244 on redpostbenefice@gmail.com or Councillor Alex Brenton on 01929 459496 or 07739 903661 on alexandrob.ab@googlemail.com.  Your details will be kept confidential.

Why not follow the Morden Parish Friends Facebook Posts @MordenFriends.  If you prefer to receive future newsletters from us by email, please send an email to morden.covid@gmail.com  to be added to the distribution list.
